Job Title: Training and Events Manager

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Funding Notice

All positions are grant-funded and/or gift-funded positions. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and sufficient federal, state, and/or unrestricted funds.

Summary/Objective

The Training and Events Manger demonstrates ICESA’s excellence through creating engaging and academically rigorous training and events. They will manage, design, develop, coordinate, and evaluate ICESA’s annual trainings, CORE 40 trainings, events, webinars, and statewide conference with the result of providing attendees the continued education and knowledge to promote consistent, professional and trauma informed coordinated response to victims of sexual assault and human trafficking.

Responsibilities

CORE 40, Trainings, and Events

  • Work with the ICESA program staff to ensure CORE 40, trainings, conferences, workshops, webinars, and events are professional, audience-accurate, evidence-informed, academically rigorous, culturally competent, trauma informed, and survivor-centered
  • Create content for and maintain a learning management system (LMS), which allows direct service partners to asynchronously access educational materials at any time
  • Plan and execute in-person events managing elements like setting goals, defining budgets, selecting venues, managing vendors, marketing, and logistics.
  • Identify events, conferences, and external events ICESA can attend for outreach and increase awareness of sexual assault and human trafficking services and topics
  • Ensure ICESA is compliant with all training continuing education and regulatory requirements
  • Regularly assess training needs for Indiana’s sexual assault and human trafficking service providers, government agencies, and community partners
  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key training and education providers and stakeholders around Indiana
  • Maintain a list of training and education providers and stakeholders
  • Travel occasionally around Indiana to facilitate and attend trainings and events
  • Provide technical assistance for ICESA service provider partners

Qualifications and Experience

  • The self-starter attitude and eagerness to direct assigned programs without supervision
  • Charisma, passion, and the ability to communicate clearly and facilitate groups of any size, virtually or in-person
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills
  • A degree or relevant experience in education or another related field
  • Planning skills such as meticulous attention to detail, scheduling, audio-visual setup, catering, and risk management
  • The capability to develop, implement, and assess engaging and interactive evidence-based, educational programs and events
  • The ability to create and maintain robust working relationships with various types of stakeholders and constituents—even those that may not share your views
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approach
  • An independent work ethic
  • The desire to solve process and administrative problems with technology
  • Able to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities
  • Experience with instructional design and training methodologies
  • Very organized and high attention to detail
  • Able to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and meet deadlines
  • Solid judgment and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Reliable transportation to travel statewide, when necessary

Additional Duties

Travel: 25%

Working Environment and Conditions

  • 25% of the employee’s time will be spent in a typical, temperature-controlled office environment
  • 75% of the employee’s time will be spent working in other job-related conditions tied to tasks such as but not limited to working at outdoor events.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting or standing for long periods
  • Lifting fewer than 50lbs occasionally
