Coffee with the coalition is our monthly topical training series. Throughout this series we will be providing trainings from experts in their fields on topics that have been requested by sexual assault service providers and Rape Crisis Centers. This month, we will be hearing from Kelly Vates, Becca Hatfield, and Maya Rosales, from Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center and leading a presentation on supporting survivors who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.

Kelly Vates: Co-founder and Executive Director: Kelly is a Survivor, Thriver & Overcomer of sexual violence and exploitation. A recovery veteran, visionary, published author and national presenter on sexual trauma, Kelly was named the 2022 Community Leader of the Year by the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association. In 2024, she received the esteemed State of Indiana Salute to Women Torchbearer Award. Kelly has a passion for people as well as dogs and is a Certified TDI Handler for Aspen, Fair Haven’s Certified Therapy Dog. She has a strong background in both management, entrepreneurship and serves her Heavenly Father with her whole heart.
Becca Hatfield, B.A. : Director of Client Services: Becca is a dedicated and experienced victim advocate and Survivor Leader with over ten years of progressive leadership in crisis response, anti-trafficking initiatives, and program management. She currently serves as Client Services Director at Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center, overseeing client programming, supervising staff, and leading multidisciplinary collaboration with law enforcement and healthcare providers. Becca is skilled in developing and delivering trauma-informed trainings for professionals and advocates, with extensive certifications in crisis intervention, CISM, and human trafficking prevention. She was recognized for outstanding service in anti-trafficking efforts by the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault in 2022. She is committed to empowering survivors and strengthening systems through education, advocacy, and compassionate leadership.
Maya Rosales, B.S.W. : Youth Services Coordinator: Maya has been a part of Fair Haven since June 2021. She has earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University Northwest. Maya loves art and has a passion for youth services. In her spare time, she loves to cuddle with her cat named Chicken Alfredo and her English bulldog named Freddie. She is currently looking to pursue her Master’s in Social Work.
